F1Touch for iPhones is Here!

Christmas has come early for all Fellowship One users! Fellowship Technologies is proud to announce that the highly anticipated iPhone Application called F1Touch, is now available for Apple iPhones as a free download on the App Store. F1Touch exhibits the power of the Fellowship One API in searching for individuals and is fully supported by Fellowship Technologies for all of our church partners. The features for F1Touch include the following:

My Profile

The F1Touch application allows the user to be remembered on a particular device omitting the need to log in to Fellowship One every time it is used. This feature will also allow the user to start up the application precisely where they exited the previous session.

People Search

Fellowship One is intrinsically people-centric and the F1Touch follows that philosophy with its state-of-the-art people search engine. Users will be able to do name searches in a variety of formulas. F1Touch delivers quick results by limiting the initial numbers of results, and along with the individual’s name, it will also display images when available.

Individual Details

F1 Touch also allows for a comprehensive view of individual details from the Fellowship One database.  Using the F1Touch application, phone calls and emails can be made or sent with just one touch of the screen, and the touch of an address will instantly access Google Maps and provide exact locations.

With the F1Touch, the power and ease of the Fellowship One system is literally at the fingertips of the user, which allows the church and its staff to reach its people from anywhere at anytime. The F1Touch iPhone application is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store.

It's AWESOME, thank you!  It will be a great tool for our staff with iphones (and we have quite a few of them!)

Nice to have this!  On my phone, when I touch a person's address to bring up a map, it doesn't allow me to get directions to that address; only to see the address and map.  Is this by design?  Could it allow us to get directions in a future update?

Make sure you remind everyone to enter the church code in lower case...needless to say I was a bit frustrated at first when I couldn't log in.

How about the ability to upload a photo right from the iPhone? Would make the updating of peoples profile a simple easy task!

The iPhone app is a home run!  I have used it already a couple of times today.  The linkage to the dialer and email; the photo enlargement and maps are great.  The layout is intuitive and content easy to read. Because I have IMAP access to our email, there's a short password to enter my phone, and this makes eases my mind about the auto log-in feature.  I believe I'll be using this quite a bit.  Thanks!

The iPhone app currently has a setting where you can remain logged in and it stores your username, password, and church code. If this is selected anyone who picks up your phone can have access to your entire F1 database.

As a precaution a suggestion would be to let your staff know they should log in every time and not select the "keep me signed in" option to protect your church info.

The iPhone application while it provides for some great functions that would be helpful to our pastor's. It also allows for you to maintain your login giving someone who might find your phone with full access to your Church's DB, including a list of all of the kids in your church, everyone's birthdays, and addresses. This type of information is all that is needed from someone to have their identify stolen. This places a very large liability on the church for not protecting this information better. For now our church has banned the use of this app until some better security can be integrated into the app.

1) Have the ability to control from inside the f1 db who can access it from an iPhone

2) Have the ability to control what information can be looked up on the iPhone and in the DB itself. Not everyone who uses F1 needs to be able to access addresseses, and birthdates

3) Force anyone using the F1 touch app to have security enabled on their iPhone

4) Force an auto logoff after a few minutes of non use on the app

Thank you for sharing your concerns, we take security of your data very seriously. The F1Touch iPhone application, along with all future applications using the F1 API, can be managed by the church through an Administrative page that will soon be released within Fellowship One (within the next 2 - 3 weeks). In the interim, it's easy for us to switch a flip for your particular church to revoke access for all of your users. Contact us on Monday and we'll make that happen.

Currently, the security is no different than accessing FellowshipOne.com directly. There are no additional data elements provided to users apart from what they can already access with basic People rights within Fellowship One. They can already log into Fellowship One via the Safari browser on their iPhone or any other mobile device. Or they might choose to use Mobile.FellowshipOne.com which provides similar features to the iPhone application but without the usability that a native iPhone application provides.

I understand your concerns regarding the "remember me" function which we will evaluate for our next release. Feel free to contact me directly to discuss further, csimmons@fellowshiptech.com.

jgunter,

I password protect my iPhone, so even if I let apps remember my login information, someone would first have to find a way to get past the iPhone password. I find that kind of peace of mind is helpful since I also have my personal Address Book as well as my Safari bookmarks cached in my iPhone.
