    Finance

Should the Christian Community be aware of a major company marketing to the gay, ***, bi-sexual and transgendered community as well as the Christian Community? I am employed by a major company and have  decided that I cannot continue my relationship with them because of the support granted to groups I am so opposed to. Please respond. Thank you and God bless.

Is this company attempting to keep such things a secret?  Are you bound by any anti-disclosure clauses in your contract to not say anything?  Does the AFA already have knowledge of this (seeing as they seem to keep pretty close watch on this sort of thing in general)?  To some people, it makes quite a bit of difference.  To others, it makes little to no difference.  Personally, I like being informed and if Company X and Company Y are equal in other things, then the decision comes down on the one more closely matching my values.

I've seen a lot of good discussion about the idea of "Christian Yellow Pages" and how we really need to balance the idea of supporting a business advertising in there with being good stewards of our money.  Just because a company advertises in that booklet doesn't necessarily guarantee that they provide a better product or service than a business which doesn't advertise there.  Also, if you're driving 30 miles to support that business when it is almost the same as the one 2 miles away, it may be a good time to evaluate your options.

One other thing to consider about this major company - are they alone here or is everyone providing similar services doing the same thing?  E.g. If this is Ford, are they going above and beyond what Chevrolet and Honda are doing or are they at the same level?

    Hope this helped some.

    In Him,

    -Peter

    Re: Finance

It's so unfortunate that companies choose to support the alternative lifestyle community.  They are quick to side with groups which give them political leverage but they are slow to organize with religious community groups.

I believe that it's impossible for us to start to point out every company doing things like this.  If you look closely and start magnifying companies you'll see people like Zondervan -  a GREAT brand that publishes tons of great material.  Unfortnately under the magnifying glass they're not so hot... They are owned by HarperCollins ( a Rupert Murdoch company ) who were the first to jump on board with the porn industry to bring us porn in books.

We need to focus on being a POSITIVE LIGHT to people by the way we live.  We have a huge chance to shape the way we react to the growth of the alternative lifestyle community over the next 10 years.  We can either boycott this community - which will inevitably make them hate us, just like Hollywood - Christians have a very negative spin there.  Or we can show them the love of Jesus and inviting them into our churches and showing them how to change.

As soon as christianity becomes a witch hunt we've got major issues to deal with.

Amen and right on!! We must show the love of Jesus, not hatred which only comes from the flesh. Live in the Spirit!!
