Quickbooks and Fellowship One

Our church just recently purchased Fellowship One. Is there an easy and efficient way to link contributions received in quickbooks to Fellowship One?

We are currently using Quicken to track giving, expenses, etc. Is there a way to track expenses, payments, etc. in FellowshipOne?

Or, does it only handle contributions?

Vendor for contribution statement mailing

This question was asked several months ago, and I just wanted to ask again:

...does anyone use a third party company to process and mail their [contribution] statements? Do large churches do this all in house?

Does anyone have a vendor they'd like to recommend for stuffing, sorting and mailing contribution statements? Our previous software service provided this for us, and I've been told several times that F1 does not have a vendor they specifically recommend for this.

We normally generate around 1,500 letters per mailing.

If you are doing this in-house, do you trust volunteers to handle a job like this?

How to handle Charitable Gift Fund checks?

We have several church members who support the church using gifts through a "Charitable Gift Fund." The Charitable Fund (i.e. Fidelity) sends a check to the church at the direction of the donor, i.e."John Doe". John Doe has previously made a gift to the Charitable Gift Fund, which constitutes his charitable donation. The check we receive is from the Charitable Gift Fund, and is not deductible to the individual church member, nor is it a deductible contribution to the Charitable Gift Fund.

My question is how to handle this gift within F1 Contributions? This check would be processed through our normal procedures, i.e. scanning the check and posting to an account. however, I would like to notate the gift to the actual church family who directed the contribution... Has anyone had experience with this? How did you handle this in F1?

best way to import Contributions?

Did a search through the documentations and this site, and doesn't look like it's possible for us to import our contribution records into Fellowship One through Data Exchange. Is there a way to do it that I may have missed?

If it's not possible, anyone have any suggestions for getting our data into the system? We imported our people records, but we don't have any of our financial info in there - we aren't a large church, but we have about 4 years of contributions that I'd really like to not have to type in manually. :)

Running FO Contributions on a Mac - please help

Has anyone run the contributions software on a Mac? I installed Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac and also installed Windows XP, but FO Contributions is not recognizing my check scanner. I'm really frustrated and just wondering if anyone out there has figured out how to get it to work. I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Batch scanning

It seems like the recommended scanner (Magtek MICRImage RS-232) can only scan one check at a time. Our check scanning person will go nuts if she has to do that.

How are larger churches scanning hundreds and/or thousands of checks in a run?

Giving away bible for Contribution

I need help. Our church is giving away a bible if you give $200.00 or more to our campaign. But by law you must show that goods or services were given for there donation. At the end of the year how can you show that the market value of the bible was taken out of their dontation.

Contributions for Individual on Behalf of Another Individual or Company

We have two members who are giving to a church campaign pledge through company paycheck withdrawals that also include a company match. The checks come in from the company in a single amount. I'm struggling with how to record this in the contributions app.

I'm assuming the employee amount should be allocated to the church member and the company match (which is the company's money) should be allocated to the organization. But the split tool allows split only for funds/accounts, not for multiple contributors.

What are my options here? Has anyone had to deal with something like this?

Does anyone use this like a Cash Receipts Journal? It has a place for Fund Code & GL Account so I was thinking of using this report for GL entry.

What do you use if not this one???

Please help me... we just started using F1 in February and began processing deposits via the check scanner in March 2008.

check scanners for sale

Deleting a Contribution

I'm a newbie to FellowshipOne. I've looked for documentation on how to delete a single contribution, but having difficulty finding/figuring out the procedure (at least from the Portal). Is this possible through through the portal? Or is this only possible through the Fellowship One Contribution stand alone application?

Reconciling donations into Quickbooks

Our church uses Quickbooks to manage our finances. Has anyone solved the problem of reconciling donations into Quickbooks? I can do it manually, but using online giving is a catch-22. The more people that use online giving (which is good) just increases the work in the back-end to reconcile QB (this is bad). It is very tedious to manually enter all the online transactions into QB, making sure you have the right fund, etc.

Why doesn't F1 uses cookies to save information and allow splits?

We're migrating from ConnectionPower and there are two significant weaknesses between with F1:

1. Why do I have to enter my bank information for eCheck everytime? Can this information be saved in a cookie like CP does? Very tedious to enter that every time.

2. When are splits coming? Very tedious to have to go through the entire process for each fund to make a donation. Please allow one transaction, split among the funds.

Contribution envelopes or ID numbers

I'm wondering if anyone can help! Our accounting dept. is setting up online giving and F1 contributions and have run into the issue of giving envelopes and or ID numbers? How do we establish them? We had ID numbers and envelope numbers in our old data system but we don't know where they went in F1... Any help or suuggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Mailing Contribution Statements, quarterly or end of year

Hi! we are new to F1 and with our previous software, we could export a file and have their company print, stuff and mail our statements. We do over 4000 every quarter. Our local companies told us they couldn't do that unless all the statements were only one page. Several of our statements are multi page. Does anyone have a suggestion of companies that can handle this? If you are a large church, how do you process your statements. Our pastor doesn't want to take a step "backwards" and have to do them here at the church! Any suggestions
