Contact Items and follow-up

I am doing research for our executive team. They are wanting a better process for the follow-up of our guests. Once contact items are submitted, what are you doing for guest follow-up? For a church of 2000+ is the guest getting contacted by a pastor or a volunteer? Are they getting a call, letter from the pastor, a hand written note from a staff person? If the contact was submitted on a Sunday or Monday, what is the deadline for a closed contact?

I was just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with Yahoo emails being delayed? I wonder if I should ask our contacts to give us other email addresses that won't have this problem?

Group Email Unsubcribe

Okay when we send a group email at the bottom of the email the recipient sees:
This email was sent to someemailaddress@isp.net. You can instantly unsubscribe from these emails: unsubscribe

Since the existing verbage is not clear, my question is this: Does the unsubscribe only effect one church code in Fellowship One?

It is my understanding that when someone unsubscribes an email address, that email address is flagged in the individual churches site and as a result, we can not send emails to that email address. But what I want to know if this - if a person has participated in multiple churches that use F1 and they decide to unsubscribe to all emails from one church, is emails from the other church also impacted in anyway????

(I have an opinion on how unsubscribe should work, but I want to know how it really works in a situation like I have described.)

Issue with mass e-amil feature in F1

Hello,

My church is pretty new to F1 however we have gone through some pretty extensive training with our parent church so we consider ourselves pretty savvy...

We have been using the group email feature quite a bit and it has worked beautifully... Until Friday...

For some reason the email that we sent out on Friday we received an email back saying that the receiver could not be reached... the first few we thought "okay people could have unsubscribed" but then they kept coming and My pastors daughter and my wife's email came back rejected... Funny thing is I got the email...

Is this a fellowship one thing???

Reviewing closed contacts

Hey,

What's the best way to see all the contacts that are closed each day in one place for the whole church? We are implementing quality assurance to make sure we're providing excellent service to the people behind the contacts. However, I can't find a report that will show me those contacts with only the comments that apply to those contacts. Most of the reports seem to work off of the date the contact was created and don't specifically associate the right comments to the contact item.

Collecting Contact Information

Our church is in the middle of switching over to Fellowship One. I'm currently in the process of consolidating forms across ministries and was wondering what types of information other churches collect, particularly for first time attenders. Trying to avoid overloading our first time guest while still obtaining enough information to let us know who they are and how to best serve them.

We use connection cards. A key item is the ow did you hear about us? We keep a spreadsheet of the people that are bringing guests so we can equip our evangelists. Where do I add that in a person's contact info? I have a check box for first time visitor, do I simply add a note to that? Will I be able to search that?

Benevolence Contacts and Notes

I would like to hear how other churches handle their benevolence ministry in Fellowship One. We are trying to setup a process where our Benevolence person has some volunteer helpers who have an F1 portal login. We want our volunteers to be able to help contact the families that have asked for help whether it is financial related or transportation related or anything else. We were thinking that a contact could be entered for the volunteer and the volunteer could keep track of their communication with the family through contacts, however we don't want any confidential information regarding their situation entered as a contact. Mainly, because if you have access to view confidential contacts, you can see them for any ministry not just the one you work with. So, we thought they could enter their notes about the situation in benevolence notes (a note type we set up as confidential). We can select who has access to these notes and who don't whereas with the contacts, it opens all ministries confidential contacts if you give them that access right. Thanks for any input you can share! We are on a mission to meet people's needs and want to know how best to track it.

Contact forms and Attendance

Our church uses communication cards to track attendance, get prayer requests, request information, and now sign up for upcoming events (which works GREAT by the way). I then create a contact form based on this upcoming weeks communication card (these will change every week).

Is there a way to get FellowshipOne to automatically have a person that filled out the card also attend the service in which the card was filled out?

mass Emailing to Contacts

Ok, I am a little stuck. I want to be able to send a mass email to several of my new believer contacts. Each week we get a dozen or so people who are new believers who would like information. I want to be able to select them from my contact list and send them an email. Unfortunately, the options seem to be- export to label or to mail merge or. Am I stuck sending out individual emails? Isn't there a procedure for selecting all of the contacts at once and sending out a mass email?

e-Newsletter from F1

I'm new to the F1 family, and am looking for a little advice from some of you with experience. I'd like to create a newsletter to send out as a mass email to all of our members, but I'm not sure what the power of F1 will allow me to do. Could someone out there send me a copy of something you've done in the past (bball@ymail.com). I have a .JPG that I'd like to use as the background, and then type up different articles each month. Just how flexible is the functionality in F1? Can I create my own format and then import into the software as a template?

export cell phone numbers for texting within student ministry

We are wanting to use a mass texting website for announcements, reminders, giveaways, whatever, for our student ministry.

it took forever, but we finally figured out the query it would take to get all of our middle and high schoolers that have cell phones into one list. Now that we have done that, we cannot export the list in anything that the site I am using can import. The site supports xls, but now that option has disappeared after I turned the query into a people list.

The only two fields we really want to export is first name and cell number.

Any suggestions?

Transfering a Contact to a Small Group Leader

I have read that you can transfer a contact to a small group leader even if they are not a portal user. I looked on the EUniversity and found a contact video that shows that you can link a small group RLC to a contact, but nowhere have I been able to find *how* to do this. Can anyone tell me how to link a small group to a contact item?

Maintaining F1 and Exchange

We are finding the email restrictions, size and attachment, so restrictive that it is forcing us to maintain both Exchange and F1 lists. It would seem logical that F1 should have the capability to be the one db for email and other congregant information.

Has anyone solved this by either process or some trick in F1?

Contact notification via email?

We are using contacts for our new folks to get connected! We love this feature... One of our staff members is the "route to" guy for a few different items from the contact card... this has created duplicate contacts for him... Any suggestions for him to get one contact card with more than one item on it?

I'm thinking maybe the notes area? Would it make sense to choose one item that would route to the ministry head and then write in "notes" the other items that person is interested in?

Tracking other contacts

I need some clarification on what constitutes "contact". Here we have been challenged to appreciate 5 people in our church each week. This can include emailing, calling, or sending them a note. Is this something that should be entered into F1? Is it a contact? Is it a note? Or should this not be recorded in F1 at all?

I'm all about data gathering and think the more info we have the better we can minister to people. What are everyone else's thoughts?

SMS (texts) using Fellowship One

Has anyone successfully implemented "bulk texting" using Fellowship One or any other system? I know there are lots of companies out there to manage this for us, but I'm not familiar with any of them or what is involved. I've thought about taking a report from F1 with contacts and trying out one of these vendors for bulk texting, but I'm a bit afraid to try it without real knowledge of what will happen. Any input would be appreciated.

Using F1 as a connection card replacement

Not sure if this is the right location for this question, but thought I would start here.

Our church is looking at doing away with a lot of the paper that is generated for gathering data from people. Currently, we have what is called a connection card that is a tear off on our weekly bulletin. People that are visitors or that want more information about different things fill out the card and turn it in at our connection desk. This is the primary means for us to enter new people into F1.

Now, we are exploring the possiblilites of eliminating this card and possibly doing this information either as a kiosk where people can enter themselves or where we would have a trained volunteer doing this. We could also utilize this way for entering contacts, etc.

Has anyone gone this route, or has anyone used weblink to collect any of this data? They want to make this transition rather quickly here (within 2-3 weeks) so really need to start figuring it out right away.

Embedded Flash file in Group Email?

Is this possible? I am using an <embed> tag in group email and it seems to show up fine in the preview, but when I send a test to myself, the flash file does not show up.
