Audio Recordings of services?

I know that a lot of people are doing this and was wondering what people on a shoestring budget are using to record the audio portion of the service. Is anyone using any relatively inexpensive or even free software to do this on a Windows platform? Anyone got any "lessons learned" type advice to pass on? I'd love to be able to put our messages out on the web for the more tech-savvy shut-ins to access. I know that tape ministries are still important, but feel that we're really moving towards CDs and MP3 (or your favorite audio-format) media.

Hi There!

As a pastor I like to keep my church informed and updated of all the goings on at my church. I recently created a blog and a website and wanted to add video to it of some of my sermons but I did not want to upload to one of those social networking sites. I believe the content on their to be unsuitable.

So I was looking on the net an came accross www.mydeo.com. This site allows me to upload videos to my own personal account and share them any way I choose, the great thing is noone can watch my videos from the site so I get to choose how I want to share them and the quality is great. They have these fab tools that let me embed the player either to my website or my blog, I can even e mail the video's to my family. I will never use any of those other hosting sites which steal your rights- I highly recommend it.

Options for video feeds

We're looking at our options for video display in our worship space. Currently we have three projectors, stage left and right, and on the rear wall.

We've had some discussion on getting a matrix switcher that would allow us to send different video to any of the three screens (as well as a fourth choice to the building TV distribution system). The projectors are wired individually back to the control booth, so wiring is not an issue. The space is not very large (seats 425), so we don't I-MAG.

We definitely want the ability to have the rear screen be different. Other then just being "cool", are there advantages that you can see to having the ability to have different video on the left and right screen?

Just curious if there is actually anyone out there using any other platform than a mac to do video editing, and if so, why?

This is NOT a post to try and argue which platform is better, rather a place to discuss the benefits of either.

Media Display Programs

I was wondering what others are using in terms of a media display program. I know of so many, Sunday Plus, SongShow Plus, SongScreen, Media Shout.

What are you using and WHY (what was the sellling point)?

We are using SongScreen --greatly outdated-- as well as SongShow Plus. We're looking to standardize in our four rooms in which worship occur.
