    Adult Check In for Activities

Is there anyone who can can give us a report on how you are checking in Adults (Self Check-in) for

activities.  Any particular challenges or success stories that you can share?

Re: Adult Check In for Activities

At The Heights, we recently implemented check-in / self check-in for all of our Sunday morning activities across all ages.  We had been using check-in with our preschool and children for several years.  Our launch coincided with the release of check-in 2.5.

Some of the things we thought would be challenges were no problem.  Surprisingly our senior adults have been very accepting.  In fact, just a few weeks after we launched check-in, they were asking if they could use check-in at their 50+ weekday luncheons.

Check-in 2.5 is a big improvement over the previous 2.3 Beta versions and has made the technology part of our implementation work very well.  Planning your implementation logistics from communication, barcode distribution, volunteer training, and congregation education is by far the hardest part of the implementation now that Check-in 2.5 is on the scene.  We now do check-in for 2000+ people on any given Sunday morning.

Our Senior Adult Service does check in on Sunday mornings.  They have scan tags and love it.  They were divided into care groups to start with and now we can give them a report immediately of who wasn't there so they can check up on them during the week.

Our choir checks in for rehearsal on wednesday and most of them do it. we have scan tags for them and they use self check in.

we started our wednesday adult ed using it this spring, but they need more convincing that it is beneficial.  we are on a break now until fall and will hit it again.

Re: Adult Check In for Activities

We check-in adults for volunteer training nights, membership/discipleship classes, member get together/fun nights, Brunches, etc. but not Sunday services.

Everyone's used to it now and goes automatically to checkin on arrival.  We've also found that adults are happy to wear a name tag which has been really useful - to finally put names to faces and to remember new people quicker. (It's just remember to take it off before you go to the shops or petrol station!)
