    Contact notification via email?

Is there a way to set up a contact to be sent to an individuals email address when it is created?  If not I would like to submit this as a feature request.

    Thanks

    Re: Contact notification via email?

    Hi Mark,

Currently, only small group leaders are notified by email when there is a contact pending. Other people who are responsible for working contact requests are notified on the Home tab of Fellowship One when there is a pending contact. If you would like to submit this as an enhancement request, please do so by clicking the "Support" link in Fellowship One and then Ask a Question.

    God bless,

    YES, YES, YES....

We have a very sizeable staff and many of them rarely work within the F1 portal.

I can't tell you how many times this missing feature has caused the assimilation process to crash and burn (and in turn, people to feel abandoned Sad ).  All because an important contact just sat on someone's home page when a simple email notification would have fixed it all.

Fellowship One, PLEASE add this feature.

Fellowship One, your system is awesome!  Yet I cannot believe that we do not have the ability to receive an e-mail when our Contacts are updated.

This feature would be the icing on the cake to help us manage our contacts!

    Fellowship One team, PLEASE help!

    Re: Contact notification via email?

This has been turned in under the ideas section multiple times.  The other side of the coin is that typically new F1 users request this but after awhile you soon realize that if you are using F1 to its full capacity it woudl get anoying.  Regular F1 users who are in F1 everyday, which you will be eventually don't really need it.

The best enhancement woudl an option each F1 user could turn on in a preference to get updates or not.

    Re: Contact notification via email?

I disagree, I think the contact system should be annoying.  If we really want to close the back door, then there has to be incentive to do slam it.  If someone wants to stop those annoying email reminders informing them that they still have an open contact, they'll be keen on closing it fast.

Also, a good majority of our leaders aren't in F1 daily, so assuming that they should go in a few times a day to see if they have an open contact is not ideal, at all.

    Re: Contact notification via email?

I would also like to see contact notification emails sent to staff members who receive contacts when one is assigned to them in the portal.  Although, I still think they may need prompting again to check them and follow up.  We send out a weekly report listing everyone who has open/in progress contacts or volunteer pipeline items to process.  This is sent out to the entire staff.  The plan was that positive peer pressure would help people to not have any open items that had not been touvhed in 8+ days old.  So, far we have had success with this new process.

    Re: Contact notification via email?

Our church just moved off of Fellowship One Contact Forms back to a generic web form email... for that reason. We'd move back if email notification would be added as a feature.

I'd like to know if this feature will be available and at what time frame.

    Re: Contact notification via email?

Email notification is being addressed within the groups 2.0 project, but we are still unsure yet as to how far that will extend into replacing the contact engine in the near term (certainly long term).  To keep up with product enhancements and our roadmap please refer to the IDEAS tab.
