• Creating a Class or Set of Functions

I am seriously considering creating a set of functions to interact with Data Exchange that could be posted here for folks using PHP. Unfortunately, I am a person of little time and big vision - I am wondering if anyone else would be willing to help. Basic Functions - - People Search which returns populated arrays - Login ...

  • Small Groups / Activities Structure

I haven't heard any new info recently on data exchange. I am wondering if there is any chance in the near future that there will be a way to traverse the activity structures. Read access via XML would be wonderful for these as it would allow us to display our own verison of the small group finder. Also, here is a spin off ...

  • Re: Worship as Entertainment?

Thank you for posting this. I think this is AWESOME. I am going to share it with our staff. We are a charismatic church. Sunday morning we utitlize modern worship and we have moving lights and all the cool toys. But we are VERY focused on God and giving Him the glory. I think the biggest issue with today's ...

  • Re: Finance

It's so unfortunate that companies choose to support the alternative lifestyle community. They are quick to side with groups which give them political leverage but they are slow to organize with religious community groups. I believe that it's impossible for us to start to point out every company doing things like this. ...

I do have fairly detailed plans and am willing to share what we've done with you. We had ten built at a cost of $500 each. Let me know if you are interested.

  • Re: Data Exchange Integration with PHP

This is really cool, and I have implemented the login, but how do you pass the login/authentication over to the pop up windows so they know the user has already logged in??? I think I am missing something here. -- Collin

  • Re: XML/Data Exchange

Is there any FT Staff who know if there are any plans related to Data Exchange? It would be great, but I also understand the limited power that can / cannot be given to make direct access to tables and database relationships.

  • Re: What are you using to manage events?

We're using Logos Scheduler, *yick* can't stand it. We are praying and hoping that F1 chooses to implement event managment and scheduling into their software within the next few years or we'll be switching to another platform probably browser based.

  • Re: Audio Recordings of services?

Hi Pete, I would highly suggest looking into an outboard CD-R machine. They are somewhat expensive. (I HIGHLY suggest the Tascam CDA-500 which retails for around $600) But you can get by with one that is relatively cheaper. I have seen many people suggest that you go with a PC to record, but my advice is DO NOT! As a best ...

  • XLM/Data Exchange

I know there are a million people to ask, but I dig this forum. It's pretty cool. I am wondering just how flexible XML/Data Exchange is. I am a versed PHP programmer. What all I can I do in Fellowship One by using XML or data exchange. Can I query, insert and update so that I could have some cool interfaces, like an ...

  • Re: Using a theater

You are very lucky to be blessed with a theater. My advice to you is go nuts. Once you learn all the ins and outs of what you can do with the tech in that theater, if your church ever decided to build a facility, you'll want to incorporate EVERY thing that you saw. Fly wheel, catwalks, lighting, etc... You might want to get ...

Well I do not like the toaster but I feel that I'd be unjust to my fellow co-worker if he ever reads this thread (dana i still hate the toaster j/k) so I will post another link here so you can check out the official website for NewTek's toaster. It has the POTENTIAL to be a great tool if you are strapped for cash and need an all in ...

  • Media Display Programs

I was wondering what others are using in terms of a media display program. I know of so many, Sunday Plus, SongShow Plus, SongScreen, Media Shout. What are you using and WHY (what was the sellling point)? We are using SongScreen --greatly outdated-- as well as SongShow Plus. We're looking to standardize in our four rooms in which ...

  • Re: Anyone actually "anti-mac?"

You'd be suprised just how afforable the Mac can be especially if you're willing to start with an outdated model. Even the older Macs can have an edge on PC software. Although when I worked in Post-Production, the industry standard was the same as is today, Avid. But, seems the industry standard for churches is quick becoming ...
