Engaging Talent

U Got to "Move it, Move it!"

Change requires 4 transition phases, the first is Denial (They surely don’t mean me!) the second is Resistance (They can’t make me!) the third is Exploration (I guess I can try it) and the fourth is Commitment (I will embrace it!) Moving your team through these first 3 phases quickly and to the final phase of commitment, will help them grow personally and professionally. They need to know you are already standing in commitment and cheering them on to meet you there.  They need to know it is safe to move there even when everything in them says “no.”  They need to be assured you will not leave them if they are tempted to linger too long in one phase.  They need to know you will save them from a phase if they are feeling stuck. They need you with them in every phase of change.  God does that for you He promises He will never leave or forsake you. Can you do that for your team?

Commitment changes direction without hesitation or guilt – God helps us handle change, he shows us in Numbers 10:13, “When the time to move arrived, the Lord gave the order through Moses. The Israelites were constantly moving through the desert yet they were able to handle the change only because God’s presence in the tabernacle was always with them.  The portable tabernacle signified God and his people were moving together. Like God moved with them your team needs to know that you are moving with them. Moses did not say “I’m sorry God told us to move here or there” or “Let’s wait on this change until everyone is on board”  He moved when God said move, without hesitation or guilt!
