Engaging Talent

God is AMAZING!

A few weeks ago, He called me to find satisfaction in my work. He wanted me to treat my work as worship to Him.  I did and He so faithfully blessed me!

Our Dynamic Church Conference exceeded our expectations but more importantly I am hearing it exceeded our customer’s expectations!  We prayed for 300 attendees and God blessed us with 332! I had to opportunity to meet most of the 332 attendees; I was able to connect with 2 beautiful women from Cedar Falls, Iowa where I grew up! It was comfort in my chaos to hear about my home town. I was able to visit with a wonderful man who was exploring Fellowship One for his church, when I saw him on opening day he was a bit overwhelmed, when I reconnected at lunch with him on Friday, he was full of knowledge and excitement!  I was blessed to have dinner Thursday night with 4 very glamorous young women from California, boy was that a table of laughter and smiles! I was blessed by people every time I turned around.

But the true blessing for me was in the employees of Fellowship Technologies!  I work with them every day and some days I take them for granted or I don’t really see them for who they are because of my selfishness to get tasks done. As an HR Director, you want to believe that your employees are the most talented, that they love their jobs; that they will be loyal and speak highly of the company but in reality that is not always true.  What I saw over those 3 days melted my cold heart! What I saw and the attendees experienced was a fully functioning family, glorifying God through work.

First and foremost we trusted God and in turn, we trusted each other in the various roles we had; presenters, room assistances, greeters, support, information, registration, Keynotes, AV and IT. We could not have had such a professional, successful conference if one piece of this was not working. We trusted each other on a completely different level those 3 days, which has built a 3cords-type bond.

Second, we were not afraid of conflict in those three intense days.  We did not hesitate to disagree or challenge something for the betterment of the conference or the attendees.  There was a great deal of compromise from the leaders of the group to find the best answers, find them quickly and act on them.

Third, we were committed to providing our attendees with the best service.  We had clarity around our goal which was to glorify God and advance His Kingdom.  Every employee had buy-in to why we were doing the conference and what their role was in the conference.  Satan really tried to tear us apart in this area; we all had many personal distractions in sicknesses, surgeries, a new baby, and several new pregnancies and even in death.  God was bigger than Satan and we remained obedient, the Almighty prevailed!

Fourth, everyone was accountable for their role. Every employee knew where they needed to be and when they needed to be there.  They were prepared to help in all situations, even when it was inconvenient or not in their comfort zone.  I watched as so many introverted personalities transformed to outgoing and adventurous just to engage the attendees.  The Holy Spirit was truly in this place! I stood in awe most of the time as I watched our employees mingling with our attendees.  What a wonderful testimony to an awesome God!

Fifth, we focused on results. They say “one of the true measures of a great team is that they accomplish the results they set out to achieve.”  We did.  We glorified our God and we will watch as He expands the Kingdom through our obedience. We look forward to hearing all the stories of how these 120 churches advance His Kingdom because we were passionate about Fellowship One.

Thank you to all those who attended and saw what a blessing the employees of Fellowship Technologies truly are to me! Please pray for our continued success so I can continue to combine God and HR and not get into trouble J

In Him, Tammy
