Parent's of... Children of...

Hit the IDEAS tab and sort by praise points... #4 on the list is the request to send an email to the parents of participants.  Awesome!  Great idea!  Of course you may also want to send an email to all parents of kids who qualify for VBS; or, for that matter, create a group, export data, create assignments, etc.

Good news!  As you know, we are aggressively attacking the ideas list (31 of the top 100 will be closed by the end of Summer) and very soon we will be able to deliver on #4.  Check out my latest video and let me know if we need to change anything.  Thanks.

Until this feature is released, there is a work around that F1 added not too long ago. It is not as quick and easy as what Curtis demonstrates in the video, but it does allow you to get parents of children. Here are the steps. Open report M1400E (Activity Pre-Assignment Roster). Make your selections. For "Choose an Output Type," select "Temporary Group." Click "Additional Filters" and next to "Return Parent for TempGroups/Labels" select "Yes." After running the report, go to People | Groups | Groups and notice you now have a group type called "Temporary." Your parent list should be included in that group type. It has a three day shelf life, but you can save it to a new group if you choose in order to keep it. Hope this information helps.

@plloyd, yes!  In fact it is already available to you.  Simply go to any group (people list), go down to actions and select 'View Parents or Children'.  You can see a video demonstration in our education area (http://experience.fellowshipone.com/media/education.html); select People > Groups > View Parents or Children
