    iPhone

What's the latest on iPhone support?  I've tried mobile.fellowshipone.com, and it seems pretty inadequate on the iPhone.  At least fifteen pastors here have iPhones.  Is there a Fellowship One iPhone app in the pipeline?

    Re: iPhone

I second that request.  We're new to F1 (still implementing), but an iPhone app, or at least an iPhone friendly website, would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Re: iPhone

I'm just curious what functionality you would like to see.  Something similar to the mobile.fellowshipone.com site?  Search for people?

Also what church do you work for?  15 iPhones on staff=cool.

    We'd like to see:

    (1) People search
    (2) Query builder - with "actions" option such as emailing ...
    (3) Portal/homepage access so user can see action/contact items

Thanks for considering fucntionality on this platform.

    Re: iPhone

I would like to see an iPhone friendly site also. I don't think it wouldn't be necessary to have more than the individual and household views available. Currently on staff here at The Rock Church we have about 6-7 pastors with iPhones and about 7-8 more staff members with iPhones.

What I think would be optimal to have in an iPhone friendly F1 site is:

Household & Individual views containing the following widgets:
    Involvement (view only)
    Notes (view & add)
    Contact (view & add)
    Attributes (view & add)
    Requirements (view & view documents)

    Re: iPhone

I've noticed with the Mobile link that it's not even an HTTPS, so basically it's not a secure connection.  Is this a huge security hole?

    Re: iPhone

Yes, we do plan to deploy iPhone apps. However, we're less interested in being "first" and instead want to get it "right". One prerequisite for us was the implementation of our RESTful API. We really needed that in place to get the iPhone app structurally sound.

So don't worry, just be patient, we are heavy users of the iPhone within our company so I expect we'll get it out there before too long.

    Re: iPhone

Any more news on the dev of an iPhone app?

Also, I would add to the requested feature list: an option to do a semi-permanent login or "linking" of account info to the app.  This is similar to Evernote or Skype.  You just open it and it works.  I've found logging in with iPhone to the web app to be a pain due to the various environments you find yourself in - it should be a quick and done thing.  I think this linking would be fine for contact query functionality (not admin).

     Thanks!

    Re: iPhone

We will be demonstrating the iPhone app on May 15th at our developer conference, I suspect the public release won't be too far past that.

    Re: iPhone

How did the May 15th release go?  Any updates?  It would be so helpful to find church members phone numbers with an iPhone app

I think you should be interested in being first and get it right!

    Re: iPhone

There are a couple of things we need to complete before we make the iPhone application generally available.  With the recent release of the iPhone 3.0 OS, Apple requires that any new iPhone applications conform to some new 3.0 standards before being approved for their store.  Also, we are still completing some of the paper work required for Apple's app store.  We are actively pursuing both of these tasks.

My expectation is that we will have it ready for general availability by mid-summer.

I know this is a tired request, but how about an update?  Summer is over.  Sad Thanks.
