    Label printers with cutters

We are choosing which printer to use for our check-in stations.  It has been suggested that we get printers with cutters on them.

Can anyone give a specific recommendation?  The Zebra GX420d looks similar to the GK420d, but it can take an optional printer.  Or do we need to stick with the Zebra LP2844-Z, which is slower and less attractive?

     TIA,

     Dan

    Re: Label printers with cutters

    Dan,

The Zebra LP-2844-Z with cutter is nice to have but is definitely the most expensive of the 3 printers we support. The Zebra GK420 is the newest printer we support, it is smaller, sleeker, and faster. Some churches prefer this one due to the look and speed. Other churches prefer the cutter because sometimes the labels get pulled or torn incorrectly and the next ones can become misaligned (this is rare though). Hope this helps!

    Re: Label printers with cutters

We have chosen to use the printers with cutters for our check-in stations...especially the self check-in stations.  The alignment was not the issue...if torn down or incorrectly, the next label would stick to the roller and jam the printer.  Once the sticky substance was on the roller you had to completely clean it with alcohol for the jamming to stop.  We are slowly replacing our non-cutters with the cutter model because of cost, but any new kiosks we put in, we make sure they have the cutter model.

    Hope this helps,

    Andrea
