Small Groups - Activity Finder Question

My small groups pastor would like to have a single link from our website that would then list all available small groups to the end user.

Does anyone know of a link to use to be able to do this?

Instead of having to load the Activity Finder then select small groups from the pull-down list then click the Search button.

He has been looking at another product "Church Teams" for small group management and they have this feature.

    thanks

    Mark

Re: Small Groups - Activity Finder Question

Some observations from my Church Teams experience:

    ·         I was punched out of my churches website.  Your brand is of the upmost importance and no user should be forced to leave it.

    ·         A prospect can email a group but that prospect has no idea that the functionality is available unless they mouse over the leaders name and notice it's a link.  I wonder if there is a reporting function that gives staff the visibility into contacts?

    ·         The mapping app they use is cumbersome if you have a lot of groups are rendered in the prospects search.

    ·         When you want to join a group it gives you a pick list of names.  I could choose any of about a thousand names.  The names are not secured behind a login.  Anyone can add random people to your small groups ministry .

    ·         I added my name to the list and a pop up appeared stating that my information was securely stored.  No SSL certificate anywhere throughout my experience….?

    • I now have another application and database to manage and none of the data collected will reside in our ChMS.  No big deal until you try to run church wide reports and try to mange assimilation and engagement.

Re: Small Groups - Activity Finder Question

Nick and I will both be presenting sessions at DC08 that will show this capability in a future version of Fellowship One.  The specific tracks are :

    • Future of Fellowship One API : Moving to a RESTful architecture
    • The Direction of Content Management at Fellowship Technologies

I can't give a date on when these technologies will be present in production, but we are working hard on some technologies that will greatly increase your ability to integrate your church website with Fellowship One.

Both Groups (brand new small groups code) and our RESTful api are shaping up nicely.  If you can't make it to the conference, stay tuned to the Developers tab of the Experience site - https://experience.fellowshipone.com/Experience/Developers.aspx.  We've posted some info on the RESTful api there and plan to post more of our initiatives in the future.

Re: Small Groups - Activity Finder Question

When searching for a small group, currently the only option i see noted is that the user is "forced" to leave our website. I have heard that F1 is working to get it built within the page.

Is there a way for us to put the "small group finder" and the "small group manager" inside a webpage? We use Site Organic right now and it would be SO HELPFUL for us and our church users if we could put instructions above the finder to help walk them through how to send an interest to the leader.

If this is already a capability, do you have an example of a church website which is currently utilizing this?

    Thanks,
    Kristin

    HERE WAS THE RESPONSE:

All of our Weblink modules are currently designed to open in a new browser window. We do not support programs that embed the modules within the web page, and having this setup can cause some problems with the web site. If you would like to see this added to our product, you can post an enhancement request on the Ideas page of our Experience site. To get there just click on the Community link in the upper right corner of your Fellowship One, then Ideas. If there is anything else we can help you with please let us know. Have a blessed day.

Re: Small Groups - Activity Finder Question

Google Maps.... We put all the groups on a map with all info.  Link to it and you see all groups and can map it, call or email groups based on info you give.

Do you use Google Maps within the Small Group Finder page?
