We have a Sports Ministry here at our church and are trying to get ideas on how to incorporate F1 into this ministry. 

Do any of you have a Sports ministry and, if so, how do you use F1 in relation to it?

We've done that using assignments.  We made the activity 'Intramural Sports', then the RLC the specific sport, then we used the Breakout Groups to designate each team for each sport, ie. MBB-01, MBB-02 and so on, or CVB-01, CVB-02 and so on. (Mens Bball and Coed Vball).  You can then run report M3001E or some other report, to produce rosters.

 

We are actually using F1 with our Sports Ministry.  We are only recording who is involved at a activity level.  We have a people status category of 'Outside Ministry Attender' which are those individuals who attend something like youth groups, Awana, Upwards, or any adult sports activities, but do not attend our weekend services.  Since our Sports Ministry is basically an outreach tool, we are really just wanting to see who is involved and then who eventually starts coming here on the weekends. 

As individuals fill out a release form, this allows us enough information to put them in our data base.  So we do not record a team breakdown or anything of that nature. What we do, then, is a one time 'Post Attendance' for all participants so that it shows up in their activity history.

Our Sports Ministry houses various adult sports activities and any Upward children's programs.
