    Search Options

On the "Experience" site in Search Options you have the ability to search on words, tags, names and dates.

I would like to suggest you have an option to limiting your search to a specific area (i.e. blogs, forums, ideas, and updates).

Also it would be nice to be presented with a pull down option for tags that lists all tags currently in use in the site (or the specific area you are searching) - rather than having to look up and then manually type out the name of tags.

    Re: Search Options

Can you please give me some additional details to the second part of your suggestion, the part about tags? If you click on a tag it performs a search with that tag. It essentially does the same as typing the tag into the search box.

    Thanks,

Yes, but with search options, you can combine other search options such as searching for "results with all the words" and "with a date" combined with a "tag".

Also when using search options, you could have your search include multiple tags instead of just one.

(also on a different topic - shouldn't a reply to a post "carry forward" any tags? I notice that the tag field on my reply is blank. Is the "site design" tag I entered with my first post also tied to this reply? And what is the impact of adding a different tag? Does it cause the forum thread to carry both tags? And how do you handle retagging a thread if it is mis-tagged - for example someone posts a message about check-in and mistakenly tags it for contributions, do you fix that and if so how?)
