    Media Display Programs

I was wondering what others are using in terms of a media display program.  I know of so many, Sunday Plus, SongShow Plus, SongScreen, Media Shout.

What are you using and WHY (what was the sellling point)?

We are using SongScreen --greatly outdated-- as well as SongShow Plus.  We're looking to standardize in our four rooms in which worship occur.

We are currently using Easy Worship.  We are using it because of its capability to show video or live camera shots in the background while the static text is up.

    Re: Media Display Programs

I was at a church that used Sunday Plus and I just wasn't too impressed by it.  It could handle PowerPoint, some videos, and displaying pictures/videos behind the words on screen.  However, formatting text for the singing portion of worship was kind of awkward and really not intuitive. The PowerPoint viewer worked okay, but the instant that it lost focus, you were wondering why it had "stopped working".  If your paths were not exactly the same on any computers you were working with, you'd also run into problems as it didn't seem to work with relative paths all too well.  I was also not impressed by the long startup time.  I know that other programs are available and was wondering what people were using as well.

I'll try to find out what our current church is using for presentations.  It seems to be pretty capable as far as being able to make adjustments to on-screen text quickly.  I know that Powerpoint and videos are possible through the software as well.  I'll post back when I find out the name.

    Re: Media Display Programs

Currently we use both Powerpoint for pre and post service announcement slides (as well as some full screen slides during the message), a Compix media generator, and a Final Cut Pro machine for video playback.

We are currently getting ready to update so ProVideoPlayer for video playback, and hopefully, once our questions about it get answered, move to ProPresenter for message slides (lowerthirds) and run both video and slides off the same machine.

I have heard much praise of easy worship, that's quite interesting.  Wondering if anyone is using media shout also.
