Re: Staffing assignments with multiple schedule options

I am actually in the process of trying to sort through this exact scenario right now. I am trying to set it up in a way that will allow departments to utilize a fellowship calendar report to print their schedules instead of manually doing them each month.

We have 2 campuses and between the two campuses we have 4 services. I am finding myself having to create a lengthy list of staffing schedules because there are so many different staffing scenarios. We have those that serve at all services every weekend, those that only serve Sat night once maybe twice a month. We also have those that only serve 1 Sunday a month, or serve the 1st and 3rd Sunday, Sat, or both. I figured in order for staff to utilize the Fellowship Calendar we would have to have all these staffing options.

The problem I am finding with the current calendars is that they all look at room locations. Because we will be utilizing a volunteer central (except for kids volunteers) I just did 2 generic room locations giving the rooms the campus location. Below is an example of how our teams are setup. I am trying to figure out if I am just going to have to request a new calendar report get built.

Ministry - Weekend Services (one for each campus)
Activity - Celebration Service (name for our main weekend worship service)
Activity Schedule- Sat 6pm, Sun 8:45 and Sun 11:30
Room Location- Campus 1 or 2
    Staffing Schedule-........
    Job....
    Activity Group....

So, what I am trying to figure out is how I can set everything up so that one department can go into a report and run it just for their department lets say for our Guest Service people. Plus we would want the ability to separate them out by campus. I need to figure this out before doing the schedules because I don't want teams having to go back and fix assignments in order for their schedules to print out right.
