We are just now delving into the world of staff schedules. We have a guest reception each Sunday morning, and there is a group of volunteers who are scheduled to work. The person that has been in charge of scheduling this usually takes 1/2 of the group and schedules them for a three month period (each couple usually only works 1 or 2 times within the three month period). Then, the other 1/2 of the group gets scheduled for the next 3 month period. So, in a given year, each person or couple would work 2 to 4 times.
When I try to set up a recurring schedule for this, I'm having a little trouble. It looks like I can either (1) set up two sets of schedules that recur on a 3 month period and then go in and change the beginning date of the schedule when that 3 month period is up or (2) set up an annual schedule for each sunday of each month. With this one, I would assign a volunteer to work the 1st Sunday of every January and June, etc.
Is there another way to set up these schedules or am I on track with my assumption above?
