Weblink Security?

    Weblink Security?

I am very comfortable with the security features that F1 has in place, however, our website guy was recently given the job of setting up weblink for us and he had some concerns. Can someone suggest some answer I can give him to his questions? Below are his thoughts.

"In order for me to register for an event, I have to create an account with Fellowship One. Personally, it drives me nuts when I have to give personal information over the internet unless I am doing banking, etc. For example, they are asking for Date of Birth... which is considered as a very sensitive piece of information with insurance companies and financial institutions. I know at the insurance company I work for, there are all sorts of liability issues if we expose that sort of information to the public. (e.g. "loose it" or "get hacked") You might want to check if Fellowship One is "owning" that liabilty if someone from our church signs up, gives their Date of Birth, and then Fellowship One gets hacked... (Fellowship One will say they are "safe," but that does not remove the issue of who has legal liability for the loss of "personally identifiable information.") Since I deal with this very topic every day of the week at the insurance company I work for, I just wanted to mention it."

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Lauren
