Thanks for the feedback, I don't have a hard time for the list serve stuff. Also, I would love to hear some stories re: improvements that stats were able to influence; it would be very helpful when trying to identify roadmap priority.

Curtis this is the response and questions from our marketing team:

Ok, so you saying that you don't have any of the enewsletter marketing features that others provide.

I think the subscription form is the most important thing missing so that we can have people signup at our website, and probably some won't be in our database... do they say when they will have that functionality ready? I disagree on the importance of statistics. If we have statistics for receipts, opens and clicks, then we can actively take steps to increase those rates, as well as get a picture of what is important to our congregation.

@Sherryd - most of what you described falls into the categories of 'list serve' (subscriptions) and mail stats; neither of which are a part of F1. We do consider the CANSPAM stuff simply because it is absolutely necessary if you want the ISP's to process your messages.

I can easily understand the need to subscribe to specific lists (this is a project we have identified in our annual roadmap), but I've heard from a few of our customers that stats aren't as valuable as they sound. Once you find out that x% open your email and x% click something in it the stats stay pretty close to that number with every email. Do you have a different experience?

We are looking into starting a churchwide enewsletter and I was

wondering what Fellowship one's enewsletter capabilities were.

some of the features that we would be looking for are:

- form generator for subscribing to the list

- receipt tracking

- open tracking

- click tracking

- unsubscribe option

- appropriate CANSPAM information

do you know if fellowship 1 has these capabilities?

could i get some assistance with the e-newsletter as well? I pasted my html but the formatting is jacked up a bit. I also can't figure out how to save it as a template. thanks,

A PDF is one way but I would recommend sending it out as HTML, it's a tad more complicated to make it look great in multiple email client but that way it's not an attachment. I can assist you offline, send me an email to arrange a time, csimmons (at) fellowshiptech.com

Thanks for the reply. If I save the Word document as a PDF and attach it to a group email (all members), will the PDF show in the body of the email, or will they have to click the attachment? I'd like the actual text and pictures to show in the body of the email, of course.

You may want to consider downloading a copy of PrimoPDF and printing your newsletter to that so you can attach it to a mass e-mail. That will generate a PDF file so your newsletter will retain its formatting for everyone who views it. I don't know if that helps, but it may be easier to manage if you're not trying to use mail merge fields.

e-Newsletter from F1

I'm new to the F1 family, and am looking for a little advice from some of you with experience. I'd like to create a newsletter to send out as a mass email to all of our members, but I'm not sure what the power of F1 will allow me to do. Could someone out there send me a copy of something you've done in the past (bball@ymail.com). I have a .JPG that I'd like to use as the background, and then type up different articles each month. Just how flexible is the functionality in F1? Can I create my own format and then import into the software as a template?
