    RESTful and Data Exchange

I am new here and I am in the beginning stages of designing a new website for our church.  We want to better integrate fellowship one with our new site so I am looking into how to do that.  From what I have gathered so far it seems there is currently one way to do this (Data Exchange) and a better way (RESTful) will be coming in the future.  Is that correct?  Is there a place I can read more about the RESTful API?  I looked at the downloadable PDF from Dynamic Church '08 already.

    Thanks!

    Pete

    Re: RESTful and Data Exchange

If you haven't already done so, watch the video located here. We'll be publishing more videos soon. The RESTful API has not yet been released to production. Our customer base will be well notified when it does become available.

I did watch the video already, forgot to mention that.  Thanks.  I will look for the email.

We are in the same boat - starting to build interfaces and it would be nice to know at least a BALLPARK timeline - obviously not holding you accountable to nay timeframe given - to know wether to hold of on a significant amount of development that would have to be redone. Can you tell us - is this next quarter? End of Year? This time next year?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

    Re: RESTful and Data Exchange

Just wondering if you have any updates yet.  My boss is getting anxious to start working on a new site so any info I can relay to him would be helpful.  Thanks.

Same here - we would like to know if this is realtively close - otherwise we have to start figuring out how to extract the data through csv files, etc... and I'd rather not do that just to turn around and have this be available.

    Re: RESTful and Data Exchange

I wish I could tell you it was ready to release, but we aren't quite there yet. We are actively working on it and plan to accelerate our efforts as we head into our conference in May.
In fact, we are hiring right now for two development positions so we can increase our development velocity and spend more time on the RESTful API. (If you know of any talented developers or designers that might like to work here, please let us know.)

    Re: RESTful and Data Exchange

Hey guys, any update on when the REST API will be available? I am starting a new project using the old API, I would like to start working with the REST system, it would make my life a whole lot easier.

    Thanks,
    Matt Beeman

And lastly, be sure to email api@fellowshiptech.com to be considered for a private beta we wil open up soon.

I see that, it appears I jumped the gun on the creation of that email address, we should have it resolved within the next 24 hrs.
