Sub Volunteers checking with new 2.5

We ask our volunteers to find their own sub when they cannot serve from a pool of volunteers that already serve in that area.  we are running into an issue with the new 2.5 check that if the sub does not have a staffing assignment to that particular week they cannot check in.  Does anyone else expect this of their volunteers and/or have you run into this issue at all?

I would assume that a sub would still be a volunteer in your ministry area, just on another week. That makes no difference which week they are scheduled for as long as they have an assignment to volunteer in that department. Hopefully, your volunteers are only calling subs that work in that ministry area already--then it's no problem.

The issue we are running into is that we need to have on the Activity the Vol/Staff Assignment to Activity Schedule because we have three campuses and 4 services a weekend at each campus.  Therefore we ask volunteers to choose a specific time to serve.  When we have the filter set to Vol/Staff Assignment it will not let you check in to that time you are not assigned to.  This is where if someone serves normally at 6pm and is subbing for a 4pm person they are unable to check in.

    Good afternoon!

Can you please send me a screen shot of the following screens so that I can help you with this issue:

    • Activities
    • Activity Schedules
    • Staffing Assignment for a volunteer that cannot check into a different service time.

    Please email it to mlindsley@fellowshiptech.com

    Thanks,
