    Individual Photos

I, along with other fellow F1 Portal Users, have noticed that the individual photos are much smaller than they were in the last version of Fellowship One. This is pretty annoying because it almost defeats the purpose of having pictures of individuals since you can barely make out who the person is. One thing I did notice is that there is a larger picture when you go to edit the individual, but that adds an unnecessary step and leaves out all the Portal Users who don't have People Edit rights.

    Please change this.

Wow, I was just about to post this same question.  Agreed!  It's now extremely hard to see pictures.  I was curious if I have to run a report to see bigger pictures.

I would also like to see this changed.  Even if it could be enlarged with a mouse-over, that would be much better than the miniature picture that is now being displayed!

    Re: Individual Photos

I posed this question to FT as well. So far here is what I can tell.

They store the photos internally at 315x420 or higher. When uploading my photos I set them to that resolution.

Although you can not see a large photo on the portal they are still there and accessible. If you right click on any photo in the portal and click properties to get the URL and then change the last letter in the URL to L it will show you a large version of the photo.

    https://www.fellowshipone.com/portal/giving/scannedimage.aspx?AppID=1&PKID=XXXXXXXX&Size=L

    Where XXXXXXXX=your unique IndividualID.

With a bit of extra work and excel you could author a webpage that showed all your photos large.

We just need FT to make it so you can click the photo to pop-up the larger one.

    Re: Individual Photos

We would like to see this changed as well. Currently the photos are displayed so small they render the pictures ineffective for our users. How can we go about getting this changed in the next update? Should this thread become an idea or should we wait on Keith's ticket request?

    Re: Individual Photos

How about printing the photo's?  I need larger pictures to include with membership applications for our Elder Board  They need to be bigger than thumbnail.

    Re: Individual Photos

Our users have been complaining about this as well.  I have installed a bookmark into their links toolbar with the following target url as a quick solution until F1 does something.  Simple to use, just load an indiviual and as long as they have a picture displayed in your menu bar on the left (as your active person), this bookmark will launch a new window with the full sized version of that picture.  Not sure if the forums here are going to mess with my javascript but all of this should be on one line as the URL of the bookmark.

    BLOCKED SCRIPTvar mywin = window.open(document.getElementById('ctl00_mgActivePerson').src.substr(0,document.getElementById('ctl00_mgActivePerson').src.length - 1) + 'L','picWindow')

    Re: Individual Photos

I was afraid it would do that.. use the code above but replace the "BLOCKED SCRIPT" text with "javascript :"   Take the space out between the t and the : as well..

    Re: Individual Photos

We have been researching this issue and recently came across this post with various responses. I gather there is no easy solution at present.

I want to know if any knows if it would it be easy to extract the photos from fellowshipone for use in other applications or would the DPI be too poor?

Has anyone had a need to do this and how and what was used.

All ideas and input is welcome. Thanks Rose

    Re: Individual Photos

I think the only reason we haven't seen this as a problem thus far is because you can simply click on the photo and a preview window pops up, showing the photo in the size it was uploaded. I would be interested to find out about the extracting the photos from F1 and what kind of quality they will retain.

    Re: Individual Photos

This was a fix from F1. At the time I wrote my comment this click to enlarge feature was disabled. All looks better now.

    Re: Individual Photos

I thought that might have been the case! :)
