    Add Embed Form Feature?

It sure would be nice if I could embed contact forms in my web pages, rather than having to put links out to the forms.

Just simplifies it for the viewer.  And that's who I want to make it easy on.

    Re: Add Embed Form Feature?

You can embed the Contact Form. You cannot however, embed Event Registration forms. Use the <iframe="WebLink URL goes here"> tag on your web page and make sure you set the height and width property accordingly.

Contact Form, Profile Editor, & Small Group Finder can all be embedded. See http://www.newlifecenter.org/ and click on The Hub Online for an example. The remaining WebLink apps cannot. The problem is with the Internet Explorer browser. It will not persist the URL from page to page in an <iframe>. This is a security feature of IE that is frustrating!

Some churches have worked around this by programming their web site to do a browser check upon entry. If the browser is non-IE, they show all WebLink forms in the iframe. If the browser is IE, they show the traditional "Click here" link that pops in a new window.

Feel free to contact me if you want more information.

    Re: Add Embed Form Feature?

The problem seems to be with the session cookie that holds the login info not being allowed. IE automatically treats any cookie from an iframe as "third party", which is automatically denied by the browsers default settings. Weblink forms, etc. actually work if you lower IE's cookies restriction level from medium to low. Have you guys thought about creating a P3P policy that would authenticate your form, even if it's in an iframe? The following page describes it in a bit more detail:

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/389456/cookie-blocked-not-saved-in-iframe-in-internet-explorer

This would really help with those of us who are trying to do more integration between fellowship and our sites.

I don't think it's that it's not persisting the url. The problem seems to be with IE not allowing cookies to be saved from within an iframe (in this case the login cookie). Any cookie from an iframe is automatically labeled "third party" by IE and therefore rejected.  Weblink forms, etc. actually work fine in an iframe if you lower IE's cookie restriction level from "medium" to "low" in Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy. Have you guys thought of adding a P3P policy to the header of your forms so that IE will authenticate it? You can see what I'm refering to here:

This would really help those of us who are trying to do more integration between our sites and F1.
