    Options for video feeds

We're looking at our options for video display in our worship space.  Currently we have three projectors, stage left and right, and on the rear wall.

We've had some discussion on getting a matrix switcher that would allow us to send different video to any of the three screens (as well as a fourth choice to the building TV distribution system).  The projectors are wired individually back to the control booth, so wiring is not an issue.  The space is not very large (seats 425), so we don't I-MAG.

We definitely want the ability to have the rear screen be different.  Other then just being "cool", are there advantages that you can see to having the ability to have different video on the left and right screen?

    Thanks for your time,

While I can't think of a whole lot of reasons, especially without I-MAG, you may want to check out this site:

The author has some pretty good comments on the use of visual technology in his archives (have to do a little digging) and some pointers to other websites.

To me, different images on each screen would be very distracting.  I'd be more focused on what was going to change next rather than my focus on worship.  I could potentially see it for videos that have some form of dialogue going on between multiple people, but other than that I think you'd have a lot of people becoming unfocused as their attention would be called from one screen to the other.  It would also be hard on some people who are sitting in a bad position to see one of the other screens.

Our sanctuary seats about 750 and we have two main projection screens, one stage right and one stage left.  We run a video feed of the worship team with the lyrics layered on top in the front.  The feed for the lyrics also goes to a projector that displays the lyrics on the back wall for the worship team.  We've also used the back wall to display announcements for our Pastor to say before the offering.
