When do you create an activity?

I'm curious what criteria people use when determining if they need to create an activity in F1.

Do you create an acitivity when it is for a one time meeting? Two times or more?

I can see how F1 could get very cluttered with numerous activities if I let it.

    Thanks for your input.

Re: When do you create an activity?

Mark, Let's think about this from a differnt angle. What kind of information do you want back from Fellowship One? What is your definition of "meeting"? If it is for things like one time Baptism prep classes or small group leader classes, you may very well want to keep track of who has attended. You have to decide what information is important to you and collect it. As a general rule, if it has to do with the church, and it's not the worship service itself, we encourage taking attendance on it. Activities can be made inactive and so can schedules, so they do not cloud up your production environment. The only way to get a complete picture for each of your members and leadership teams is to take attendance on everything they do. Remember, attendance records are as much about people who show up as the people who don't. If you don't take attendance, you'll never know who your regular attendees are (for the most part, this is obviously different for a very small church as opposed to a very large one) and who the absentees are. Those who show up regularly and then stop for whatever reason may just want someone to reach out to them. Without attendance records, you'll have a very hard time distinguishing who those individuals are. Remember, it's all about closing the back door! Jeff

I create activities for most of my events. This helps track who is active in our church. I can also create rosters and reports.

I thought this answer was so well put that I forwarded it onto the rest of our staff (pastoral and admin).  Thanks!
