    Fund Accounting Software

Our church currently uses Quickbooks in conjunction with F1.  We have been advised by our accountant to switch to a software that will support fund accounting.  My question is for churches that are using fund accounting software.... what are software are you using and how is the functionality with  F1?

    Thanks for any suggestions!!

    Hi Sara,

We use Microsoft Great Plains - it is a fantastic account package.  This is the same package that Fellowship Church uses.

    Sara,

I'd love to have a conversation with you about what your accountants have told you.  You can do fund accounting with QuickBooks.  As you know QuickBooks is easy to use and very inexpensive to own.  I do know that there are some "audit trail" issues that make accounting firms uncomfortable.

We have been using QuickBooks for years at NewPointe and I'm convinced that this accounting software can be used effectively by 99% of the church out there.

    Sara,

Just wondering why your accountant insists you switch from Quickbooks? One, Quickbooks does have a Nonprofit version that would probably meet his requirements. But, we just switched to Quickbooks and opted not to purchase the Nonprofit version using the Pro version and will modify the terminology a bit to give it a Fund Accounting type feel. Given that we are still fairly new to QB, curious as to why he thinks you have to switch from Quickbooks to get this done.

    Thx

    Steve or Sara,

Have either of you used blauckbaud products in conjunction with Fellowship 1? We currently are investigating using The Financial Edge or Raiser's Edge.

    Thanks!
