• Re: Excel Template?

If you do the same thing every time, there should be a ''Macro Recorder'' that you can start to record your actions. Excel will then remember those and you can save it and re-execute it each time. That depends pretty heavily on being able to repeat the steps exactly each time, though. You may be able to use a PivotTable or PivotChart ...

  • Re: Double Assignments

Jennifer, I apologize for the delay in responding. 1. I'm not sure if this can be easily undone within portal or not other than by changing the form answers. I know that it could possibly be done through a support ticket, but am not sure otherwise. 2. Creating additional assignments - probably the best example would be a conference with ...

  • Re: How do you track grade level?

One way to do this would be by creating an attribute group along the lines of ''HS Graduation Class'' with attributes such as ''2009 - 12th Grade'', ''2010 - 11th Grade'' and so on. You could just use the year by itself as well, but the text can be helpful to know what grade is associated with the year. It also gives you an easy way to ...

  • Re: should be easy

Keith, For what information are you searching when you want to look at all of the households? I can see that this may be manageable for you right now, but you must have a reason for doing this other than just wanting to page through them. That's where I'd like to focus if possible. I know when I'm looking at sets of data, I'm ...

  • Re: Double Assignments

Jennifer, If I'm reading your form creation correctly, you have your form set to give an assignment and schedule and you've also structured the question ''Grade in 2009-2010 school year?'' to give an assignment, but have not specified any particular RLC to that activity. This results in two assignments - one for the Form and another ...

  • Re: should be easy

While Query Builder may have trouble returning 10,000 records (I have not personally tested this), I think that if you're trying to work with a set of that size, you may be better off running a report in the first place. From a dataset of that size, the only thing I can think of that you're trying to do with it might be to do some form of ...

  • Re: Changing Funds after WebLink Submission & Payment

If this is purely for reporting purposes and doesn't affect any actual money in bank accounts, this could probably be accomplished by putting all of the people you want to move into a group and opening a support ticket for us to mass change the sub-funds and any assignment details. Of course, this is better suited for a large mass change. If you ...

  • Re: Giving away bible for Contribution

Could you split the giving record so that $5 goes to some sort of Receipt fund that defines the Bible and leave the rest to the fund tied to the campaign? It's more work for those records received, but it would separate out their giving appropriately.

  • Re: Deleting Activity Schedules

Tracy, The schedules can be removed, but the warning about assignments tied to the schedule indicates that you have Participant and/or Staffing Assignments that are tied to those schedules. You may want to run some reports to figure out who is tied to those old schedules and should be updated or have their assignment removed. Be sure to ...

  • Re: Delete Household?

One possible alternative would be to create some sort of dummy record in the system and then merge unwanted people records into that record. That will retain any giving, but will effectively remove the bad data from your system. I know that others have done this in the past and the only warning is to be careful as you would in any merge. You ...

  • Re: Is there an add limit to groups?

Debbie, Quick note - I just tested this under your account and was able to access it. Please open a support ticket about this so we can look into the Edit actions and check the code behind that Edit page. However, in the meantime you should be able to do your edits now. The database server has cached whatever data is being used for this so it's ...

Josh, I took a quick look at your ticket and while I don't have a solution for the problem that's occurring with the aggregate form, I have a suggestion that may get you up and running while we try to figure this out over here. I noticed that you have a link on your page that says something like ''Click here to register'' and that ...

  • Re: e-Newsletter from F1

You may want to consider downloading a copy of PrimoPDF and printing your newsletter to that so you can attach it to a mass e-mail. That will generate a PDF file so your newsletter will retain its formatting for everyone who views it. I don't know if that helps, but it may be easier to manage if you're not trying to use mail merge ...

  • Re: DC08 Conference oddball question

I'm not 100% positive, but you could be thinking of Silos, Politics, and Turf Wars by Patrick Lencioni. Is that it? If not, maybe someone else remembers correctly. For Him, -Peter Schott

  • Re: SMS (texts) using Fellowship One

I think you may want to consider a service such as Texthub or even consider using Twitter. Whatever route you choose, you're better off asking people to opt-in to receiving text messages rather than trying to pull this information and just send a text message to people. Remember that most phone companies in the US charge people to ...

  • Re: Pagers/Cell Phones

We do that at our church and ask the parents to give us a cell # if we don't have it. I think that it's a reasonably safe bet for most people that they have a cell phone. If they don't have a cell phone, we ask where they'll be so we can find them if needed. Our pager system went out a while ago and the cost to replace was hard to ...

  • Re: Contribution envelopes or ID numbers

Envelope Numbers are assigned through the ''Basic'' tab of the Individual View page. This is the default page that comes up when you click on the link for a person. The field is called ''Member/Env#''. If you're trying to set the ''Old ID'' values, I think that this can only be done through Data Exchange. Without knowing which ...

  • Re: Contribution envelopes or ID numbers

Sharon, I went through the data you sent to us for conversion (at least that which I could find easily) and was able to retrieve your old envelope numbers for 959 Individuals. That data is now in F1. Your ID Numbers were probably stored in the ''Old ID'' fields in F1, though I'm not completely sure we're talking about the same numbers ...

  • Re: Tracking Worship Service Attendance

You can set this up under the Ministry tab. If any giving is attributed to a particular activity, you can set up who gets attendance posted in a ''Post Attendance'' manner to that activity. e.g. If I choose ''Worship Services'', ''Saturday Service'' - anyone who gives to that particular activity will have attendance recorded for that ...

  • Re: Participant Assignments

Debbie, From a data standpoint, I tend to find interest in the various assignments, looking at who was assigned, who never showed, who showed up all the times, is there a pattern to people who were assigned and never showed up to anything, how did they get assigned to an event for which they have no attendance, etc. However, from a management ...
