  • Re: Cell Phones, Outlook and F1 Contacts

Last year at Dynamic Church 07 I did presentation on Data Exchange (the Fellowship One XML RPC API).  In one of my demos, I used a HTC device and entered in contact information of some individuals.  When my device synchronized with Outlook it uploaded all of the information into Fellowship One Portal's database.  Have a ...

  • Group email 2.0 being tagged as SPAM

I have recieved reports from some of our ministry admins stating that they believe messages that they send using group email 2.0 are filtered as SPAM.  Answer id 284 states  'In some cases, a Spam filter may prevent the delivery of messages being sent from Fellowship One utilizing the Group Email feature. If you are not ...

  • Re: Group Email 2.0 (beta) - Problem with hotmail

First, let me complement you on your email design.  I like the organization of the page and content.   I work in the Product Management team at Fellowship Technologies.  F1’s Group Email employs the industry standard UTF-8 formatting. Wikipedia defines UTF-8 as:   UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format) is a ...

  • Re: "Oops there was an error"

The issue should now be resolved. The root cause was that some new users had not provided a Private Email Address when accessing the site for the first time. The forum software requires that every user have an email address. We set any blank email addresses to ''replaceme@test.com'' and this enabled the forum software to function properly again. ...

  • Top 10 (+1) Email Etiquette Pet Peeves

There are a few things about work-related emails which annoy me to the point of exasperation. (Undoubtedly I'm guilty of a few of these from time to time, I'm working on it) 1) Email signatures that do not include a contact phone number. What if I want to reply to your email with a quick phone call from my office or better yet ...

I'm jumping in at the end here so I hope I'm not being redundant. It's true that the HTML Editor control we provide within F1 had (may still have) a few issues with special characters.  However, formatting and layout of HTML emails within a variety of email clients like Yahoo, Hotmail, Entouch, etc., etc., etc. will ...

  • Re: Data Exchange and Email List Management

Probably one of the best mechanisms that many churches use to accomplish something like what you’re trying to do is to use Individual Attributes and IndividualCodes.  The setup for these attributes can be found in the portal under Admin::People Setup::Individual Attributes. You could programmatically add attributes to people when they ...

  • Re: Returned/Rejected E-mail : Best Practice?

Welcome to the world of mass email. It is a messy world. Bounced emails do not come in a consistent format that you can filter or search to find ones with invalid addresses. That means you are stuck reading each bounced email. FT is developing group email to provide some management solutions. I do not know the timing on their ...

  • Returned/Rejected E-mail : Best Practice?

Howdy, I am wondering what other churches are doing in regards to returned or rejected e-mails? For example, this morning I sent an e-mail inviting 1,600+ men to a Men's Summit we are hosting this Friday and several hundred of these kicked back to me. What are others doing to combat this? Are others even having this issue? I ...

Hello, We just sent a marketing e-mail to 2,700 different e-mail addresses for our upcoming sermon series. I was sort of aware of the unsubscribe function but am not sure what happens when someone actually uses this option.  Also, am I as the administrator notified in some way when this happens. I'm sorry if the answer to this is ...

  • Communication Preferences - Any Ideas?

In January, we want to switch from a paper newsletter to an html version and send it to our volunteers and families. We want to give families without computers or access to email the opportunity to have their newsletter mailed to them. At this point we are pre-weblink and in my ministry (Children's) we have about 900+ individuals and when I ...
